Toby Kiers, evolutionary biologist at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam and MiCRop PI, has been awarded a Vici grant worth 1.5 million euros. The Vici grant is a personal grant awarded by the Dutch Research Council (NWO). Toby studies how fungi take decisions when trading nutrients with their host plants.
