Did you know that the green roofs of bus stops in Utrecht are full of live? The fungal partners in these networks help the plants in the stressful city environment, in exchange for nutrients.

A journalist from the Dutch newspaper Trouw followed Justin Stewart, PhD student and part of both MiCRop and SPUN, on their quest to collect samples in order to investigate how fungi and plants communciate in the city.
