Jos Raaijmakers from NIOO-KNAW is project leader of the Galápagos Microbiome Project: An international research team searching for invisible life in the Galápagos Islands.

Six researchers and a film maker will depart on 25 March to their 12-day expedition to a number of (un)inhabited Galápagos Islands to study the micro-organisms and their role in the ecology of host plants on the islands. This will hopefully elucidate the relationships and help researchers to support plant growth and survival on Galápagos Islands.
